My Background

I have worked within the field of psychology and mental health for over 30 years. I qualified as a Clinical Psychologist in the UK in 1987, and worked with children, adolescents, adults, couples, families and groups within the Social Services and National Health Service in London, England.

In 1990, I emigrated from London to Vancouver, and worked in Adult Mental Health at Vancouver Coastal Health until 2002. I was a Therapist at the Day House Intensive Group Psychotherapy Program at Vancouver Hospital, UBC site, for 4 years, and then at the outpatient Psychiatry Ambulatory Clinic at Vancouver Hospital, UBC site, for 8 years. In 1998, I completed a 4 year training at the Vancouver Homeopathic Academy and received their Diploma in Classical Homeopathy.

Between 2002 and 2019, I worked as a Clinician in 3 different settings in Child and Youth Mental Health, ages 5-19, at Vancouver Coastal Health. I was initially at the Child and Adolescent Response Team (CART), and then moved to the Kitsilano Mental Health Team, which later merged into the Pacific Spirit Child and Youth Mental Health and Addiction Team.

For over 25 years, I have had my own private practice in Vancouver as a Registered Clinical Counsellor.  I offer consultation, individual psychotherapy and couple counselling to adolescents and adults.  I co-founded Interelements Group Psychotherapy and co-facilitated weekly psychodynamic psychotherapy groups for adults. I am a contracted Employee and Family Assistance Program (EFAP) Service Provider for Homewood Health and for ComPsych Inc.
